Ever heard of
Project Rockstar? It's a free online multiplayer game based on the music industry. You start bands, write songs and albums, promote, play gigs, sign to record labels and try to work your way up the mighty charts. I started playing the game about a month ago and got hooked, vicariously living out my rockstar dreams.
One aspect of the game allows you design covers for albums. I made a couple quick covers and found that creating them is not only tons of fun, but it's a great creative exercise to improve my design and typography skills and keep the mojo goin - feeding the mojo is vital when you've been in graphic design as long as I have. Since then I've been making a couple covers a day using the awesome stock images available on DA, spending about 20-30 minutes on each cover.
So that's why all these covers.
If you're wondering... yes, I make a living drawing pretty pictures. Send me a note if you'd like a cover for your band and want to help a freelance designer (aka starving artist) pay the bills.

Since there is no specific music to lend inspiration, I usually associate musicians that I think would be similar and use their music/style to inspire.

The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds; and the pessimist fears this is true.
